About us
The village received its name from the state leader Balthasar Skaiboth, who played a large role in the Thirteen Years’ War. Over the centuries the name has, however, undergone several metamorphoses, from Skaiboth, through Skaibutis, Skaibutai, Scayboth, Scayboten or Skajwot and Skaibotten, until the current Skajbot.
The village borders on Lake Bogdanskie, through which the Kiermas river flows, a trail of unforgettable kayaking. The surrounding area is famous for its infield small ponds and swamps, which constitute a natural sanctuary to wild animals and species of birds rarely found.
The surrounding forests are inhabited, among others, by:

· elk, wolves, deer, roe deer, wild boar, foxes, hares, badgers, polecats, otters, beavers, raccoon dogs; · white-tailed eagle, osprey, hawk, grey heron, blackbirds, jays, partridges, cranes (they have their lairs on our area during the summer time), storks, wild ducks, hoopoe; |
Skajboty is a picturesque town located of north-eastern part of Poland, among unique lakes and forests, 13 km from Olsztyn. It was founded by Henryk (Henry) from Lajsy, the settlement entrepreneurof Barczewo and a brother of Jan (John) the founder of Olsztyn. The privilege to found the village was signed on 11 November, 1362. On 27 May, 1487 the town was purchased by the canons form the only inheritress – Sophia, Michal (Michael) Schaybot’s widow. In its original form the village covered an area of 60 “lan”(about 1039 hectares).
Warmińska Winnica is located in an expressive, 5-hectare pravalley of the lake, on the border of the forest, Lake Bogdanskie and the Kiermas river.
In the vineyard from the noble grape varieties we produce wine under its own brand Herkus Monte, which we serve to our guests.
Depending on the season of the year the visitors can participate in the grape harvest and a number of attractions related to it, among other things they can observe separate stages of vinification as well as visit the little cellar, tasting our regional wines.
At the disposal of our guests we leave two houses, two holiday cottages and a camping site. Both the houses and the cottages are comfortably equipped. An entertainment room with a PA system and a bar, a billiard table and darts is available to the visitors. On the property there are restocked fish ponds, gardens, an orchard, a meadow. Our guests can use, among other things, kayaks, boats, bicycles, a grill and a swimming pool with deckchairs for sunbathing.
It is possible to organise optional sightseeing excursions, sleigh rides, integration and occasional event.
The Warmian vineyard is locaded in an expresive, 5-hectare pravalley of the lake, on the border of the forest, Lake Bogdanskie and the Kiermas river.more
